Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Home Health Care Payroll and Billing Coordinator to oversee payroll processing, billing operations, and financial compliance within our agency. The ideal candidate will have prior home health care experience, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for staff while managing patient billing and reimbursement processes. This role requires a strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and home health care billing regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
Process payroll for all home health care staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage laws.

Verify timesheets, visit logs, and overtime calculations in accordance with agency policies.

Maintain payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including overtime and paid leave policies.

Address payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay.

Billing & Reimbursement
Prepare and submit claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance payers.

Monitor claims status, resolve denials, and follow up on outstanding payments.

Ensure proper coding and documentation align with home health care regulations.

Reconcile payments, post transactions, and maintain accurate billing records.

Coordinate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing issues and payment plans.

Compliance & Reporting
Ensure payroll and billing processes adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

Generate payroll, billing, and reimbursement reports for management.

Stay updated on home health care reimbursement policies and payroll regulations.

Collaboration & Support
Work closely with HR, finance, and clinical teams to ensure payroll and billing accuracy.

Provide training to staff on payroll processes, timesheet submission, and billing documentation.

Assist with financial audits and regulatory surveys as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of payroll and billing experience in home health care or a related healthcare setting.

Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing processes.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in home health EMR/billing software (e.g., HCHB, Kinnser, WellSky, Axxess).

Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
